Welcome to the website for a new Puy du Fou park in the UK
Puy du Fou is a multiple award-winning world leader in creating spectacular historical live shows and immersive experiences based upon the history and culture of a country and its people.
This website provides an introduction to Puy du Fou and our proposals for a new park near Bicester in Cherwell. Following two rounds of public consultation in July 2024 and February 2025, we are now reviewing the feedback we received and preparing an outline planning application to be submitted to Cherwell Council later this year.
If you have any questions or would like be kept up to date, please contact us using the details below.
Who are Puy du Fou?
We are storytellers, creating live shows depicting historical events inspired and rooted in local heritage, local culture and local heroes. Our two existing parks in France and Spain have won 22 awards around the world in the last five years.
When you visit Puy du Fou, you walk through a beautiful natural environment, travelling through time by immersion in our historical shows and period villages populated by authentic craftsmen. Our parks are not plastic stage sets; there are no neon flashing lights or rollercoasters. Everything we do must be real, built using the crafts and materials of the time period they represent, all set in woodland and beautiful gardens, which become the stage set for world-class shows and immersive cultural and historical experiences, bringing history to life.

What is a Puy du Fou park like?
We always have a very high level of visitor satisfaction. In France and Spain we are one of the top tourist attractions and we overall have around a 65% return rate from our visitors.

Why this location?
We have wanted to come to the UK for many years, to have the opportunity to celebrate Britain’s rich and colourful history.
We spent considerable time searching for exactly the right location. This needed to be a large site, geographically well located, with excellent transport links and within easy reach of London and Birmingham. We particularly wanted to find a location that was surrounded by British history and near to other existing heritage attractions.
As we deliver parks which are beautifully landscaped and planted, we needed a greenfield site set in the English countryside where we can plant thousands of trees. We also needed somewhere where we can enhance and build upon the existing habitat, where our vision can deliver a really positive ecological impact.
The site we have chosen is near Junction 10 of the M40 in Oxfordshire, roughly three kilometres north of Bicester, near the village of Bucknell.
